Canister Thrones
Canister thrones really first came into prominence in the 1930's with drummer Gene Krupa. Many notable drummers have since featured a canister throne as part of their basic set-up. Some of these drummers include Buddy Rich, Louie Bellson, Joe Morello, Butch Miles, Sonny Payne, Jack Sperling, Ed Thigpen and others.
Merrill Custom Drums is proud to keep this drumming tradition alive. Our canister thrones feature an open base, and a non-opening lid. This means they are not suitable for transporting items (such as pedals, stick bags, etc.) Seat height is per customer request. Our seats feature a standard 14" diameter pedestal, a 15" diameter DW seat top, a wrapped finish, and a 2" wide liner ring at the bottom to prevent the seat from moving while being used. For an additional fee, a case can be obtained for the seat.
